Rekey Larson Storm Door Lock

I recently installed a larson storm door and the instructions say the lock can be keyed to fit kwikset or schlage.

The hinge rail screws may be too tight. If the 2 keys can be inserted in the other locks generally they can be keyed alike with some exceptions. There may be a pocket of air pressure between the primary door and storm door. However my schlage key will not fit into the larson lock.
