Remove Mildew From Popcorn Ceiling

Go over the space two or three times to ensure you get all of the mold. Make a mold removal solution by combining 2 tablespoons of borax cup of vinegar and 2 cups of hot water and spray the solution onto the affected area. Apply it directly to the moldy surface and let the wood soak up the solution. Suck up surface dust and cobwebs using your vacuum s attachments. You can also use a feather duster to clean the ceiling but it your ceiling is very dirty the vacuum is the better choice. Then use a paint scraper to remove the paint in the affected area.

Ideally a oil based primer is best for mold sealing and prevention. Position a steady ladder under the mold affected area. Only give it a light misting too much water could damage the drywall or loosen the joint tape.
